At a Glance
Botchok is one of the most ancient Orion Colonies and the homeworld of the Red Orions. Botchok is the larger planet found in a trojan orbit with Gothei. The natives of Botchok, the Red Orions, refer to their homeworld as Geze. Botchok is a world of dense cloud forests, jungles, and wetland marshes from which jut rocky mesas and outcroppings. Botchok mountain chains abruptly change altitude, often forming sheer cliffs. The Red Orions prefer the lower reaches while the Orions live in the mid-altitudes of the mountainous regions.
Terrain
From orbit, Botchok is a hazy blue jewel about 90% the size of Earth, with vast zones of dark green lowlands and rockier higher altitudes.
Botchok is a story of three ecological zones. As a planet it has relatively shallow oceans with a lower saline content than Earth. This is because the amount of freshwater working through the hydrosphere is vast. These shallow oceans can be difficult to distinguish from marshy, brackish wetlands from orbit. The oceans teem with a spongy, moss-like alga. These waters are deeply affected by Botchok's close trojan orbit to Gothei. Tidal swells can vary by as much as twenty meters and storm tides can easily swamp land well beyond that.
