Main Bridge (Deck 1)

The Main Bridge, located on Deck One, is the central zone of control for the starship Ulysses. The Main Bridge is smaller and more condensed in task than it's larger Walker- and Crossfield-class cousins.

As a small multi-role starship, the Ulysses has a balanced approach to allotted department space, with Helm and the Command Chair dominating the center. Operations and Engineering dominate the starboard alcove of the Bridge, while Tactical and Science coordinate in the port alcove. Mission Operations, which can be a standing or sitting console, is positioned behind the Command chair and coordinates Away Team surface activity. Behind them are the Main Ship Display, Damage Control, and an auxiliary Science console.

Yeoman Pool (Deck 4)

The Yeoman Pool is the central nerve center of the ship's data. Situated near the main computer core with direct access to the communications relay, the Yeoman Pool is the briefing station for the Yeomen's daily assignments. The Pool is the central archiving and scheduling center for the whole of the Ulysses crew. The Yeoman Pool has the feel of an office complete with cubicle stations. However, most Yeomen operate in the field.

Senior Officers' Quarters (Decks 2 and 3)

With space at a premium, Senior Officers and Department Heads are really the only staff to have their own room with no shared amenities. Compared to future generations, the Ulysses and the Malachowski-class are Spartan in size rationing. Unlike the deep space Constitution-class where shore-leave was expected to be months in-between, the Malachowski-class was never designed for such lengthy sojourns without relief. The personal space was not deemed as necessary when the ship would be, at best, a couple of weeks from a starbase or planet for leave. The result is: the Ulysses is a lot "cozier" than its bigger cousins.

Even the Senior Officers don't have food synthesizers in their quarters though they have a small cold storage unit and a small pantry for snacks and stowed beverages.

Junior Officers' Residences (Decks 2-4)

Junior (Commissioned) Officers (generally Ensigns and LTJGs) shared a two-person public living space with individual "cubbies" for personal space. The design incorporates a small shared space between two sleeping cubicles on opposite sides of the room, which can be isolated with sliding transparent aluminum screens and curtains. These cubbies have a footwall display and interface that allows the officer to use their space as a workstation and comm station. Their bed can elevate their head and torso to form a chair and footrest.

Like all quarters and residences of the day, there is no food synthesizer inside, but there is a small cold storage unit.

Enlisted Residences (Decks 3-6)

The joke around the Enlisted is that, "they live in a hallway." The Enlisted Residences are as close to "barracks" as Starfleet ever gets. Each Residence consists of two up and four across sleeping cubbies for a total of eight personnel. These cubbies are almost the exact same as the Junior Officers' cubbies: they can be sealed for privacy by a transparent titanium sliding door and curtains. The footwall has interfaces and displays to serve as a desk for the crewperson. Each individual bed can elevate the torso or head to serve as a lounge chair. Enlisted share an eight-cubicle public sonic shower as well as a living space that can accommodate eight people.

The residences does not have a food synthesizer but it has a cold storage unit.
