END OF BRIEFING

The Outer Wolds Commonwealth was formed by a rouge group of Colony Governors who believed the Federation sought reform due to the Human Centric nature it had become. After vast reform policies tabled to the Federation Council that were rejected, various outer world colonies separated from the Federation in 2313, forming the Outer Worlds Commonwealth.

A common misconception is that the Outer Worlds Commonwealth is Xenophobic to Humans although several members of the government were humans.

Since their departure from the United Federation of Planets, the Outer Worlds Commonwealth has suffered minor economic sanctions. The Outer Worlds Commonwealth economy was stagnating by 2317 and poverty had risen to 17% nationwide.

When the Dominion War erupted, the Outer Worlds Commonwealth received a wave of mass immigration. By early 2375, with the sanctions and increased population, the nation had entered a depression and poverty had struck 91%.

17 worlds departed from the United Federation of Planets and priestly 4 remain as of 2399. Some worlds remain independent while others have returned to the Federation.

Currently, 4 member worlds remain. Poverty has dropped to 86% and the economy still ceases to exist while the government system is paralyzed by corruption.

The Liberal Opposition has been advocating that the Outer Worlds Commonwealth rejoin the United Federation of Planets in its current organised form, changing the UFP from within. Public support has separated, some believing the Outer Worlds Commonwealth should remain an independent galactic nation while others, rejoin the UFP. Riots have erupted nationwide, with both views each more radical.
