Deep Space 12

Deep Space 12 is a United Federation of Planets Starfleet starbase active in the late 24th century.

The station was built in orbit of Ba'ku as a replacement for the much smaller Outpost 40. DS12 was designed to serve as the command base for all Starfleet activity in the Briar Patch and the surrounding sector.

In 2377, Captain Ian Knapp took over command of Deep Space 12 from Fleet Captain Jennifer Cole. At that time, the station had a complement of approximately 1200 crew members. (HF: "Enemy Unknown, Part Two")

In 2389, the U.S.S. Excelsior, U.S.S. Helena and U.S.S. Guinevere served as sector command ships. Deep Space 12 also serves as the homeport for the Triangulum Expeditionary Project.

In 2399, Jean-Luc Picard had Captain Cristóbal Rios set La Sirena on a course for Deep Space 12 to rendezvous with a Starfleet squadron. (PIC: "Broken Pieces")
