At a Glance
Orbiting two small red dwarf suns, Verex III is the third snowball in a solar system of five worlds. Only the innermost planet- a Super Earth similar to a tidally locked Venus- isn't in a cryonic freeze. Verex III is a little larger than Mars, a permanent snowball under which exists a sea of geothermal energy. The world is tectonically active thanks to its closeness to its parent stars. Under these thick glaciers, the world of Orion commerce meet Orion politically neutral ground. All Orions are welcome on Verex- members of the Syndicate, the Pirates, the Bankers, the Traders, the ordinary Qaju. Even the Velodi, while at war with Kolar, are allowed as long as they check their hostilities at the gate.
Verex III is a neutral port of trade, an anarcho-capitalistic colony where Libertarian politics don't allow for a government that oppresses the citizens and transients. Instead, a citizen is a citizen when they decide they are one. And a transient is anyone who plans to leave at some point. Both are equal in that they can expect no interference, interdiction or intervention from a central authority. Instead, transients and citizens either agree to a set of rules of conduct, or they can leave- or be blasted into the waiting arms of the death god Bunjeezu, if necessary. The Bank of Orion and the Orion Neutrality can both afford the very best in disruptor and plasma torpedo technology.
